Dave Dowling comes to us with a friendly reminder on how to handle snow that's on top of your greenhouse or high tunnel.

With snow falling across parts of the U.S. that usually don’t get heavy snow, I wanted to remind you that it’s better to have cold hands from clearing snow off your greenhouses and high tunnels than to be taking photos tomorrow of a collapsed greenhouse or tunnel.

Don’t let this happen to you!

If you are wondering what to do with low caterpillar type tunnels, low tunnels besieged by heavy snow will often collapse and crush the plants within. Sometimes it’s best to remove the cover completely and let the snow insulate the plants.
