Flowers have large semi-flaring falls and standards which are either short and upright (single flowers) or very large and open, hanging over the falls as a second layer (double flowers). The resulting flowers have a flat, open form. Signals are marked as small, simple yellow blotches. Plants feature bright green foliage. Grow in full sun or light shade in well-drained, rich, acidic soil. Constant moisture is necessary. Plant crowns 2-3 in. (5-7.5 cm) below the surface.
