2024 New Varieties With Burpee
Madison Umphrey  Ball Intern 2023

The Ball Seed assortment of Burpee branded plants is known for their garden performance and great taste. Let’s look at some of the new varieties that will be presented at Customer Days on July 27 and 28!

Red tomato cut in half with other tomatoes

Love Gourmandia Red Tomato
Gardeners will definitely "love" this beefsteak tomato . Love Red is an oxheart shape with luscious color and very tasty fruit.

“What I love about this love tomato is the great flavor and unique fruit shape, which looks beautiful when sliced. Plus it sets fruits all summer,” Retail Business Manager for Burpee, Tiffany Heater said.

Love Gourmansun Sunrise Tomato
Similarly, the Love Sunrise variety has that same heart fruit shape, but it is more of a yellow-and-red color when ripe.

“Once you cut it open, you can see that cute little heart shape,” Heater said. Both of these tomatoes are new and exclusive specifically to the Burpee program. “You can only get it through Burpee, which I feel makes it even more unique,” Heater said.

Green peppers on a cutting board

Turnpike Sweet Pepper
This blocky sweet pepper is very versatile and can be grown in the ground or in a container.

“The Turnpike Sweet Pepper has a big disease resistant package because of its durability against Bacterial Leaf Spot 0-5, 7-9, Phytophthora Root Rot, and Tobamovirus 0,” Heater said. It is known to perform well in most environments and is high yielding.
