Selecting Varieties that Drive Sales

Our relationship with our breeder partners is showcased during Ball Seed Customer Days each Summer. From All-America Selections winners to popular varieties, as well as reliable flowers in the landscape to unique container offerings, retail success often depends on offering plants that stand out to both the grower and end consumer. Breeding programs like those of our partners focus heavily on characteristics that influence those buying decisions, including:

• Vibrant flower color

• Longer bloom periods

• Compact growth habits

• Heat tolerance

• Pollinator appeal

• Unique foliage features

By partnering with these top plant breeders, we’re always finding ways to bring unique plants to market to both big and small suppliers. As market expectations continue to rise, greenhouse growers who leverage advanced plant genetics and trusted supplier relationships position themselves for stronger performance and profitability. Whether producing annuals, perennials, vegetables, or specialty crops, selecting excellent varieties is easy when backed by established breeding programs like those of our partners. It’s a win-win when growers experience improved crop quality, streamline production and deliver the innovation customers expect.
