Alocasia features large, heart-shaped leaves that take center stage in containers and in-ground planters. An added bonus is the small, calla-like flowers. Part of the Aroid family, Alocasia produces underground tubers or rhizomes that spread and produce more coverage in landscapes and garden beds.
