We talked to Jessie McMillin, Product Manager for Mums here at Ball Seed. She grew up on a small farm in Tennessee and majored in Agribusiness. She’s since worked on farms from Tennessee to Argentina, and even Las Vegas over the last decade and enjoys talking to farmers about how their season went, as well as helping to solve any roadblocks they may have encountered along the way.

We asked her what you should know about the newest varieties, growing tips, as well as the latest tools that are available to our customers right from our website.

What are the new varieties coming out for Mums?

We have four new varieties that are featured at the front of the Ball Mums 2025 Catalog:

• Sweet Potato Pie Bronze: A rounded European-style mum covered in gorgeous warm bronze flowers.
• Astral White: This is a very early blooming variety with a mounded habit and filled with decorate white blooms.
• Paperwhite: A mid-blooming variety featuring large, white decorative flowers with soft yellow centers.
• Metrona Bronze: One of my favorite new varieties! It is a beautiful bi-color mum that has a bright yellow center and a reddish halo. It’s a vigorous variety with plenty of flexibility that makes it perfect for shipping. I think this will be a favorite for both your customers and growers alike!
